The AI auto caption generator that never uploads your video

Generate animated, word-by-word subtitles for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and TikTok in seconds. Built for Hindi, Hinglish and 15+ Indian languages — and captions are rendered and exported inside your browser, so your footage stays on your own machine.

The basics

What is an auto caption generator?

An auto caption generator is software that transcribes a video's speech into timed subtitles automatically, so nobody types each line by hand. CutXflow is one built for Hindi and Hinglish, covering 15 Indian languages. It timestamps every spoken word, renders animated captions in your browser, and uploads only the audio, never the video.
How it works

From raw clip to captioned reel in four steps

No timeline scrubbing, no cloud render queue, no waiting for an email to say your export is ready.

  1. STEP 01

    Drop in your video

MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, M4V, AVI or 3GP. The file is decoded on your own device, and the video itself is never uploaded.

  2. STEP 02

    Captions generate automatically

Only the extracted audio is transcribed, with a timestamp on every individual word, so captions land in sync instead of drifting a line at a time.

  3. STEP 03

Pick a style and fix anything

Choose from 40+ animated templates, then correct any word's spelling, timing, colour or line break against a visual waveform.

  4. STEP 04

    Export on your own GPU

Encode a 1080p or 4K MP4 locally with WebCodecs, or download a .srt subtitle file for another editor. No render queue.

Why this one

CutXflow vs cloud-upload caption tools

Some caption tools upload your video and render it on a server. CutXflow renders in your browser instead. The trade-offs run both ways, so both are listed.

CutXflow compared, attribute by attribute, with caption tools that upload the video and render it on a server
AttributeCutXflowCloud-upload tool (renders on a server)
Is the video file uploaded?Strength: No. It is decoded on your device; only the extracted audio, typically a few hundred kilobytes, is sent for transcription.Yes. The whole file goes to the provider, because a server has to render it.
Where captions are renderedTrade-off: In your browser, on your own GPU (WebCodecs), so export speed depends on your device. On the provider's servers.
Render queueStrength: None for export. Transcription is still a server call.A server-side render job, so the wait depends on the provider's load.
Hindi and Hinglish textStrength: Every caption font falls back to Noto Sans Devanagari. Hindi audio can be written in Devanagari or in the Latin alphabet (Hinglish).Depends on the tool. Check that it renders Devanagari before you commit.
Word-level editingStrength: Text, timing, colour and line break for every word, against a waveform.Depends on the tool.
Browser needed to exportTrade-off: A recent Chrome or Edge on desktop, because export uses WebCodecs. Safari and Firefox do not currently ship it.Not tied to a browser feature, because the server does the encoding.
Longest clipTrade-off: About 17 minutes per clip.Set by each provider.

The right-hand column describes a category, tools that upload the video and render it on a server, and no specific product. Where it says “depends on the tool”, tools differ, so check the one you are considering.

When is CutXflow not a good fit?

CutXflow is built for short-form video captions. It is the wrong choice if:

  • You need to export video from Safari, Firefox or a phone. Export runs on WebCodecs in desktop Chrome or Edge.
  • Your clips run longer than about 17 minutes. Transcription currently handles up to that per clip.
  • You want server-side batch processing for a team. Rendering is deliberately local, so there is no cloud job to queue up.
Language coverage

Auto captions in the languages you actually speak

Hindi speech often has English words mixed in, and most display fonts used in reels have no Devanagari glyphs at all. CutXflow transcribes the mix and falls back to Noto Sans Devanagari, so Hindi text renders instead of appearing as empty boxes.

FAQ

Auto caption generator questions

What is an auto caption generator?

An auto caption generator listens to the speech in a video and writes the subtitles for you, instead of you typing and timing every line by hand. CutXflow goes a step further and timestamps every individual word, which is what lets captions animate in sync with the speaker rather than appearing a whole line at a time.

Is CutXflow's auto caption generator free?

Yes, it is free to start. A free account (Google or email sign-in) includes monthly transcription time, editing is free, and your first export is free with a small watermark; after that, exports on the free plan are ₹7 each, or any paid plan removes the watermark entirely from ₹99 per month.

Does my video get uploaded anywhere?

No. CutXflow extracts the audio track on your own device and sends only that — typically a few hundred kilobytes — for transcription. CutXflow does not save the audio, and its transcription provider handles it under its own privacy policy. Caption rendering and video export also run entirely in your browser. We never receive your video file.

Which languages does it caption?

15 Indian languages including Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia, Assamese and Urdu, plus Hinglish written in the Latin alphabet, a wide set of world languages, and automatic language detection.

Can it caption Hinglish and mixed Hindi-English speech?

Yes — this is what CutXflow is built for. Transcription is tuned for code-mixed Hinglish, and you choose whether the output is written in Devanagari or in the Latin alphabet. Every caption font falls back to Noto Sans Devanagari, so Hindi text renders correctly even in display fonts that carry no Devanagari glyphs of their own.

Can I download an SRT file instead of a captioned video?

Yes. Alongside the MP4 export you can download a SubRip (.srt) subtitle file and use it in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, YouTube, or anywhere else that accepts subtitles.

What do I need to run it?

A recent Chrome or Edge on desktop, because export uses WebCodecs. 4K export is desktop-only because of the memory it needs. Videos can be up to 17 minutes.
