What is CutXflow and who is behind it?

CutXflow is an AI auto caption generator that adds animated, word-by-word captions to Reels, Shorts and TikTok videos, built for how Indian creators actually speak, including Hindi and Hinglish. CutXflow was founded in 2026 and is based in Patna, Bihar. Video stays in your browser; only extracted audio is sent for transcription.

Why we built it

Hinglish — a Hindi sentence with English words dropped into the middle of it — is where captions tend to break, for two reasons. Transcription has to cope with the code-mixing, and the fonts have to render Devanagari: the display typefaces that look good in reels carry no Devanagari glyphs at all, so Hindi text shows up as empty boxes.

CutXflow is built around both. You choose whether Hindi speech is written in Devanagari or in Latin letters (Hinglish), and every caption font falls through to Noto Sans Devanagari for Hindi characters, so a line reading “income कैसे double करें” renders correctly — each half in the right typeface, on the same line. Accuracy on mixed-language speech still varies with the recording; How it works explains where the limits are.

Your video stays yours

This is the part we care most about. Your video file never leaves your browser. CutXflow extracts only the audio track on your own device and sends that — typically a few hundred kilobytes for a short reel — for transcription. Rendering and export run on your device too. The How it works page lays out exactly what runs where, and the Privacy Policy says what we collect.

It is not just a privacy stance. It is why the service can be this cheap: we never pay to store or process gigabytes of anyone’s video.

Built to be readable

Caption styles carry a dark outline sized as a proportion of the font, not a fixed pixel value — because a 3px outline that looks right at 40px type disappears at 92px, and captions become unreadable the moment the footage behind them is bright. We tested against the worst realistic case rather than a convenient one.

How we keep this accurate

We try to state limits as plainly as features. In practice that means:

  • Figures come from the app. Most numbers on this site — prices, transcription allowances and the maximum clip length — are read from the same settings the app enforces, so a page does not quote a limit the product does not apply. Current prices are on the Pricing page.
  • Accuracy varies. Transcription is automated, and how well it does depends on audio quality, accent and background noise. We quote no accuracy percentage because none holds for every video. The editor lets you correct any word before you export, and the free allowance is there to test your own footage first.
  • Export has requirements. Video export needs a browser with WebCodecs; a recent Chrome or Edge on desktop is the documented requirement, and 4K is desktop-only. The reasons, and everything else CutXflow does not do, are on How it works.
